Back to School

It’s the most wonderful time of the year…

Or so they say, but, if you’re a mom and you have kids involved in numerous school activities, you know that the back to school season can be a hectic one.

Between getting all the latest school supplies, coordinating schedules, and making sure your kiddo is staying up-to-date with the school curriculum, things can start to feel a tad overwhelming.

Lucky for you, An Unlikely Pear will be attending an event at Lash Jax on August 13 to make sure you’re ready for all that the back to school season brings.

With that in mind, though, we know that not all of our valued customers can make it out to this exciting event, and that’s why we wanted to share some of our best back to school tips to make sure all you moms are ready for the start of the school year.

Let’s get back to school ready together, shall we?

Tip #1: Go back to school shopping the second week of school

This may sound counterintuitive, but this is probably one of our top tips for back to school.

While your kids may be itching for all the latest supplies, wait until after the first week when you actually know what they need.

More clutter and things in your home won’t lead to better productivity. Only purchase the school supplies your children really need for success.

Tip #2: Plan Go-To Lunches

One of the most stressful parts of the school year can be ensuring your children have nutritious lunches.

Rather than stressing the night before, trying to find appropriate lunch ideas, take the time to experiment with meal prep beforehand.

This way, you can mix and match different meals, find foods your children enjoy, and ensure they’re not just indulging on chips and candy.

Tip #3: Create A Family Calendar

This more so applies to those families with multiple children, but it’s important to be on the same page as the rest of your family members.

If Jennifer has soccer practice on Monday, it should be on the family calendar so the rest of the family knows, and pick-up and drop-off times can be coordinated.

Get the calendar set up now to avoid the hassle once school picks up.

Also ensure that your own personal calendar is ready, organized, and set up properly for the school year.

Tip #4: Start Implementing A Sleep Routine

Summer often leads to later bedtimes, sleeping in, and more flexibility in schedules.

With school, though, it’s important for your kids to get the proper amount of sleep to function at their best.

Don’t wait until the first week of school to start adding some routine back into their days. Start now, and you’ll see what a difference it can make in everyone’s moods.

Tip #5: Organize Your Home

And lastly, we fully believe that the more organized your home is, the happier it will be.

Chaos and disorganization don’t just impact your ability to find things, it also raises stress levels for everyone.

Keep things organized so the kids can find the things they need as they head off to school, and you’ll likely have a much more peaceful and stress-free household.
